I’m still learning all the hand sewing techniques for doll making, which is why I’m sewing for free (cost of materials only) right now. I will do my absolute best, but there may be some imperfections in your doll, i.e. some visible stitching around the neck or limbs, some asymmetry, or occasional loose threads. I do not have a serger so all seams are finished by regular machine. This is just as strong, but not quite as clean a finish as a serger.
I work a regular job—I’m a teacher, so orders might be slower around the end of the semester (May/Dec.) while I grade. I sew in the evenings after the baby is in bed, so things can take a little while to finish! It may be a month or more before you receive your doll. I’ll do my best to keep you updated.
I don’t have a regular shop at the moment, so payments must be processed through paypal.
The materials cost for a 16” doll with clothing is $60 USD plus shipping. If you’d like to go ahead with an order, I’ll send you a request for a 50% deposit ($30 USD). When your doll is done, the remaining balance ($30 +shipping) is due before I will mail it. The deposit is not refundable, because I can’t return fabric once it is cut from the bolt.
What y“ a full cap wig with hand-knotted hair. All dolls will have with a multi-piece outfit with velcro or snap closures (no buttons for safety reasons). And shoes, if I can figure out how to make them!!!
